What is the difference between closing and unpublishing a process?

Unpublish a process

Unpublishing hides the job from the public listings, but the process stays open. It still appears on your dashboard and for candidates who already applied.

Close a process

Closing a process indicates you are no longer hiring and ends the active workflow.

When you close a process:

  • You stop receiving new applicants.
  • Invitations sent via Talent Database or Boost are canceled.
  • You cannot move applications, send messages, or add internal notes.

Closing is reversible if the job is less than 3 months old. You can reopen it without using an extra quota, but refreshing the date requires an active subscription or visibility add-ons.
