How to write an effective invitation message to attract candidates

When you invite professionals from Get on Board’s Talent Database as a company recruiter, your subject line and message are your first impression.

A simple structure that works

Use this structure in the invitation modal, where you can edit both the subject and message:

  • Subject: role + company (short and clear)
  • Opening: why you found their profile interesting
  • Body: one sentence on the role and why it fits them
  • Close: a clear next step (apply or reply)

Keep it short. Candidates receive many invitations and usually ignore generic messages or full job descriptions.

A short example

Subject: Senior Frontend Engineer at Acme
Message: Hi Ana, I found your React and design systems work and think you could be a great fit for our senior frontend role. Would you be open to a quick chat or an application?
