What happens when a selection process is closed?

Closing a process on Get on Board lets candidates know you are no longer hiring for the role and keeps your board tidy. We recommend closing processes on time and sending a message to applicants.

When you close a process

  • No new applicants will be received.
  • Invitations sent via Talent Database or Boost are canceled.
  • You cannot move applications, send messages, or add internal notes.
  • You receive an email report with metrics such as applicants, duration, cost per applicant, response rate, and average response time.

Closing a process is reversible if the job is less than 3 months old: you can reopen it without using an extra quota. If you do not have an active subscription and the job does not have Pin or Boost, you cannot refresh its date.

You can also duplicate a closed process to create a new version with a clean selection flow. Duplicating consumes a plan quota (if you have a subscription) or an unlock if you do not.
