How do we moderate jobs in Get on Board

Professionals expect the best from us. This is why we manually review all job postings in Get on Board, so we can make sure that only quality jobs are posted. At all times, we reserve the right to reject, request changes or suspend the publication of job offers, even if previously approved.

This is the criteria we check for. Make sure your job meets them:

  Offer a competitive salary

We'll only publish ads that specify a market rate or above, according to the seniority indicated. We know that the notion of "market rate" might be highly subjective and varies from country to country. Our standards are based in the feedback we receive in a daily basis from professionals using Get on Board, and from our own experience working and recruiting in these industries.

Have doubts about the right salary to offer? Reach out to us and we'll be happy to provide references.

Specify net salary. Since applicants indicate their net salary expectations, make sure to indicate the final approximate amount they will receive, discounting taxes and insurance.

Talk about your company and what do you offer

A laundry list of job requirements is not enough. Professionals want to know how is it to work in your company: projects, work environment, location, etc. If you plan to offer equity as compensation, indicate how much equity are you willing to share and make sure you are not replacing a fair salary.

The more you elaborate, the better. Applicants don't neccesarily know your company or have references about you, so many things you take for granted (such as culture or work environment) need to be explicitly communicated so they can better picture your job in their minds.

Mind formatting, spelling and grammar

Many job boards treat their offers as little more than mere classifieds, where a bare-bones list of demands is enough.

We strongly believe that the care put into crafting a job ad reflects how much the company cares about the professional it intends to attract. And conversely, professionals value highly the kinds of ads that show such care. Take care to craft a job ad with a friendly, respectful and professional language. This is your opportunity to shine!

Make everything look good. If you paste text from Word or some other document, adjust the format and use the preview. Avoid ABUSING CAPS. Check the right spelling for platforms and technologies. Dedication to detail will work wonders for your recruiting success.

Indicate only one position per ad

Much of Get on Board' power resides in helping you match your job with professionals, based on categories, tags and salary offered. When you offer several positions in one ad, we cannot perform this matching anymore. Make sure each ad corresponds to a specific position.. This is also true for jobs that are very similar, but have different seniority levels.

Keep demands and expectations in control

Regarding skills and experience, make sure the distinction between nice-to-haves and must-haves is crystal-clear. It's tempting to make a long list of technologies, but asking for too much will degrade your job in the eyes of the talent. And of course, if you ask for more, offer more in return.

We will not accept ads that discriminate arbitrarily based on gender, race, nationality, age or other condition. All qualified professionals that have work permits in the country where the position is based should feel welcomed when reading your ad..

Communicate clearly the actual company where the professional will be working

We require that all job ads are able to identify the company where the professional will actually work, which can or cannot correspond to the company publishing the job offer.. If you are recruiting on behalf of a client, you must clearly name the company (describing it or specify the industry is not enough). If you are giving staffing services to a client (where you are the company hiring but the actual workplace is another), you should equally indicate the company where the applicant is going to perform work.

If you are in need to publish in incognito mode for strategic or confidentiality reasons, you can ask Get on Board to allow the publication of your job ad hiding your company name, provided the following requirements are met:

  • The company must be already registered under its real name in Get on Board. No pseudonyms will be accepted.
  • You must indicate a website and extra info where we can verify the company's existence.
  • You should indicate a reason to go incognito, and we will indicate that reason in the ad.
  • Only companies that are recruiting for themselves and are the final employer can go incognito. Recruitment agencies or staffing companies cannot hide their or their clients' identity.

Respect the rules

We go to great lengths to ensure Get on Board only offers quality jobs. Respect this: avoid spamming, don't ever post jobs just to harvest emails or build a database, and follow our recommendations before submitting your job for publication.

Also, remember that jobs in Get on Board only get applicants directly through our platform. Avoid including contact info or links to external application forms. If you think candidates might have some questions related to the ad, try to anticipate and address them in the job ad.
