The Role

We are looking for a Senior Java Backend Engineer to join our payments team responsible for software applications and tools to support Clip’s new online payments platform. This is a fully remote position that can be anywhere outside of Mexico. Developers from Chile, Peru, Colombia, Argentina, and more are all welcomed to join us!

What will you do:

Work as part of a team developing in Java and AWS using Agile development methods.
Contribute to team and organizational improvements in process and infrastructure.
Work with the team and Chief Architect to design and build services for payment processing.
Effectively use tools and ingenuity to identify and fix defects before they become a problem.
Invent new things and create world-changing software!

Requirements

Experience working with Java 8/11, AWS, Unit Testing, Maven, Rabbit MQ, Design Patterns, SQL MySQL.
Strong experience with Agile Methodologies, general knowledge of Design and Architecture of tech products
Strong problem-solving skills by writing maintainable code, experience using basic data structures, such as Hash Tables, Lists, Maps, Arrays, and Stacks,
Thrive in a culture of decisions based on analytics, be able to step-back and communicate both the strategic and immediate implications on priorities.
Good written and verbal communications skills in both English and Spanish and be willing to continue learning and loving technology.
Comfortable with remote working conditions. Have reliable internet connection that can have VPN + Zoom videos without problems.

Ideal Candidate

Proficient in Java development and OO methodology, Agile development, design patterns, unit testing, and other software engineering principles and processes.
Solid understanding of internet and IP communications protocols and formats such as TCP/IP, HTTP, XML, JSON, etc.
Proficient in Linux/Unix and comfortable with Mac/Windows.
Knowledge of Spring Framework, AWS/Cloud.
Solid understanding of RESTful service architecture and API.
