Job Functions

We are looking for an experienced Node.JS Backend developer to join our team full-time. You will work closely with Pulsar founders and some of the best full-stack and machine learning engineers to build new features for our core product (SaaS web application). The job involves interesting design challenges including large-scale data streaming, real-time analytics, and ML data pipelines.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • 6+ years of backend software engineering experience
  • B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or a similar technical field, or equivalent experience
  • Experience building, testing and deploying APIs using Node.js
  • Strong knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases
  • Proficient in one or more object-oriented programming languages (Typescript, Go, Java, Python)
  • Experience building/maintaining large backend codebases while maintaining extensibility
  • Experience with Systems Design and AWS as cloud provider
  • Excellent communication skills

Bonus Points

  • Previous experience working with Microservices and/or Serverless applications
  • Exposure to large-scale, distributed systems development (Kafka, Cassandra and/or Spark)
  • AWS Architect Certificates or expertise using AWS cloud services
  • Experience integrating 3rd party services
  • Strong history writing unit and integration tests
  • Demonstrated experience of shipping high-quality product features on schedule
  • Seasoned in building, maintaining, and troubleshooting CI/Deployment pipelines
  • Experience building software products at an early-stage fast-growing startup
  • Building and monitoring cloud services
