We are a U.S.-based fintech company founded in 2021, focused on modernizing lending and payments infrastructure. Our platform powers multi-lender financing, underwriting workflows, role-based systems, integrations, and financial operations.

You will join a fast-moving product team building real systems used by merchants, lenders, and customers. This is a hands-on role with meaningful ownership, direct communication, and the opportunity to help shape architecture as we continue scaling.

Job functions

Design and build scalable backend services using PHP Laravel
Develop and maintain REST APIs for internal systems and third-party partners
Build and support complex external integrations with lenders, payment providers, and other vendors
Manage webhook flows, asynchronous jobs, queues, and background processing
Design clean MySQL database structures and optimize performance
Build secure authentication, authorization, and role-based systems
Support React.js frontend development when needed
Debug cross-system issues involving APIs, frontend, backend, and external vendors
Refactor legacy systems for scalability and maintainability
Collaborate with Product, QA, BA, and DevOps teams to ship features efficiently
Participate in architecture planning and technical decision-making
Own projects from specification through deployment

Qualifications and requirements

6+ years of backend or full stack development experience
Strong PHP experience (Laravel required)
Strong React.js experience
Strong MySQL/database design skills
Experience in AWS environments
Experience integrating external REST APIs
Experience in fintech, lending, payments, or financial systems (required)
Strong knowledge of secure coding practices
Experience with auth systems, JWT, OAuth, RBAC
Experience with webhooks and async processing
Strong debugging/problem-solving ability
Jira / sprint workflow experience
English B2+ minimum

Desirable skills

Experience building and maintaining complex third-party API integrations
Experience working with multiple external partners/vendors simultaneously
Strong understanding of webhook handling and event-driven systems
Experience improving legacy systems without breaking production workflows
Ability to move quickly in fast-paced product environments
Experience with high-volume transactional platforms
AWS infrastructure familiarity beyond basic usage
Experience optimizing backend performance and database queries
Strong product thinking and ability to suggest practical solutions
Startup or scale-up experience
Experience owning projects from idea to deployment
Comfortable working across backend and frontend when needed
