Senior Product Designer in Platzi

Platzi is a Latin American company that helps developing countries transform into digital economies, training the next generation of professionals in programming, marketing, design, and everything related to technology.

Platzi's Product Team is challenged to offer our students the best online educative experience through our end-to-end platform. As a startup, we are constantly iterating quickly with experiments that explore the best way to satisfy our students' needs and help grow the business.

We're seeking a Senior Product Designer to help deliver world-class, immersive experiences to help learners transition from passive to active online learning.

Our team is still in an early stage, which means you will have opportunities to shape our culture and process from the ground up and get to drive significant product problems. You will report to our Head of Design.

Platzi's Product Design Team works across several domains: growth, engagement, learning experience, community, business, and mobile app. You will have opportunities to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of product managers, developers, marketers, content strategists, and more. You will work across these domains with the chance to grow into a craft leadership role within one.

Specifically, you will:

• Understand user and business needs to solve complex interaction and system design problems.
• Use qualitative and quantitative data to define the goals to be achieved through a simple and fluid user experience.
• Create a variety of deliverables, from prototypes and a consistent, attractive UI, to documentation throughout the product development cycle.
• Proactively take the lead on design projects or broader improvement initiatives.
• Help develop a deep understanding of student's goals and how our product can best support them.
• Build relationships and collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as product managers, to influence overall product strategy and roadmap.
• Work closely with other product designers to expand cross-platform experience and design systems.

• Have 5+ years of product design experience.
• Have English level: B1
• Care deeply about creating useful, usable, and desirable products.
• Thrive in ambiguous environments and bring clarity to your teams through your mastery of the design process (and the occasional design sprint).
• Are detail-oriented while being able to see the big picture.
• Have a passion for simplifying complex design problems.
• Support your designs with data and resolve with experiment-driven product development.
• Are comfortable working within complex systems and technologies.
• Have strong proficiency with interactive prototyping and design tools.
• Have a portfolio of product features that you helped build from the ground up.
