Architonic - ArchDaily’s vision is to empower everyone who makes architecture happen to create a better quality of life! With more than 200M monthly pageviews and a database of 450,000 product pages for architects and designers to browse from, we’re constantly developing and improving our user experience through our apps, platforms and services.
We care about your wellbeing and provide a culture that fosters happiness, innovation, and integration. We give you flexibility to work remotely, abroad, independently. We appreciate your time to rest when you need to, given that you are responsible for your own goals. You would be joining a multicultural, international team full of proactive young people with constant new challenges and a horizontal structure where your voice will be heard.

Job functions

We are looking for a Frontend Developer to join our Amazing Team!
It will be a very dynamic job where you will have an active participation defining the development scope and global vision of the projects we want to achieve together. Proactivity and Team work are key factors for us.
Some Responsabilities:
  • Design technical proposal and present them to the team
  • Join to our current workflow, participating in task estimations, iteration grooming, retrospectives, daily stand-ups, code reviews, etc.
  • Help us improve our existing code base, being very rigorous about performance, border case scenarios, bugs, etc.

Qualifications and requirements

You will learn a lot here, that's for sure. That's why the most important requirement is to have a very open and growth mindset. Anyway we still have some minimum requirements:
  • Good writing skills. You have to be able to write down any requirement, any idea, any bug description in a document. If we want to go asynchronous, this is the first step.
  • At least 2 years coding CSS and JS on real world apps
  • Good understanding of Javascript, the new features of ES6 and how to make it compatible with old browsers
  • Very good CSS understanding, including Flexbox and generating cross-browser compatible views
  • Experience with Git
  • Have a good understanding on how websites work
  • Our team is really distributed now (we have developers in Chile, Switzerland, Germany, Poland, Serbia and UK) so it's really needed that you can have a natural chat with anyone in English. We are not native English speakers but we do our best :)

Desirable skills

You'll work with Docker (docker-compose for Development and Kubernetes on Production) so it would be much appreciated if you have already worked with containers and you actually understand what's going on there.
Even while your main job will not be designing interfaces, it would be very helpful if you understand about the main Graphic Design principles and you don't need to iterate over and over again with the UI Designer just to validate some pixels between two different elements.
Some projects inside ArchDaily use React JS in the client and you will probable have to work there adding some new features too so it would be appreciated if you have some experience with this framework.

Benefits

We have offices in Santiago, Puerto Montt, Ciudad de México, Bogotá, Zurich and Berlin. If you live in any of those cities you could go there and enjoy a very cool working environment. If not, you can still work from home or wherever you prefer.
Even if we expect you to achieve the goals planned for every iteration you will have as much flexibility as possible. Of course we need to schedule some meetings and you'll have to be there, but most of the time it will be flexible.
We have some perks (Medical Insurance, for example) tied to specific countries so it will depend where you are.
In terms of vacations, we have different perks and time off policies!!
