...New Database Infrastructure Engineer, specialized in SQL databases, who is going to be part of the Platform Engineering team who are in charge of delivering and operating core infrastructure services such as database, Kubernetes clusters, message brokers, monitoring and alerting, test pipelines, build deploy, tooling for development environments, data flows for reporting and data science. We could say that they are the internal provider for the development and product teams and are in charge of delivering the foundation for a stable, secure and efficient operation.

What will you do?

• Maintain the operation of critical databases of internal and external services in perfect condition 24/7.
• Analyze and troubleshoot productive systems in a methodical manner, collaborating with software and platform engineers to address scalability, performance and capacity planning issues.
• Manage and monitor the lifecycle of our PostgreSQL clusters hosted on AWS RDS and Kubernetes.
• Provide experienced opinions to the rest of the engineering team on issues related to migrations, query optimization and data model design.
• Develop and implement tools for database infrastructure automation, which, in turn, assist the engineering teams in providing self-service development environments.
• Participate in architectural decisions focused on scalability, performance and security.
• Write technical documentation

What do you need to succeed?

• Experience managing large PostgreSQL database infrastructuresExperience participating in projects written with high-level languages and frameworks such as Python or Django.
• Experience with automation tools such as Terraform and Ansible. Working experience with Amazon RDS.
• Knowledge of Docker or Kubernetes containers.In-depth knowledge of topics related to the inner workings of PostgreSQL, SQL and PL/pgSQL.
• Experience designing the architecture of distributed systems.
• High self-management skills to work and prioritize tasks independently.
• Excellent communication skills to work with remote teams from different countries.
• Speak fluency in English
